Traffic was heavily affected Wednesday after a serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Mexico–Querétaro Highway near Huehuetoca in the State of Mexico. According to preliminary reports, a trailer lost control during rainy conditions and became involved in a collision with multiple vehicles, creating major delays and drawing a large emergency response.
The incident reportedly took place near kilometer 59 close to the Jorobas intersection while traffic was moving toward Mexico City. Early information indicated that the truck driver was unable to stop in time before the vehicle struck roadside infrastructure and collided with several nearby vehicles.
Following the impact, the trailer came to rest across multiple lanes, temporarily blocking a significant portion of the roadway. Emergency teams quickly arrived to assist drivers, assess the situation, and begin clearing damaged vehicles and debris to restore safe traffic movement.
Authorities stated that weather conditions may have played a role in the incident, as rain had created wet pavement and reduced driving conditions. However, officials emphasized that the exact cause had not yet been confirmed and remained under review as part of the ongoing investigation.
Several individuals received medical attention at the scene for injuries described in early reports as non-life-threatening. As a precaution, some people were encouraged to seek additional medical evaluation to ensure their well-being after the event.
